Currently, I have three programs, all of which have been a great success (and a lot of fun for all involved!), and it's a way for me to share my love for American History, Ecology and Equality...
American History Through Her Folksongs and Lore - A 45 to 60-minute presentation of folksongs and stories that reflect America's past from the founding of the original 13 colonies to recent history.
Be A Friend To Our Mother, The Earth - A 45 to 60-minute presentation of songs and stories to help the students understand the relationship between human beings to the Earth. Some discussion of the various Native American philosophies, as well.
We're All Just Colors Of The Rainbow - A 45 to 60-minute presentation of songs and stories to help the students understand the relationship and foster respect between all races, colors and creeds of Mankind.
Also, I can "whip up" special programs to augment whatever your classes are studying, for ages Pre-K to Middle School!
In all cases, I employ audience participation on songs and stories, via word sheets that I pass along to the students (for them to keep), and have a short question-and-answer session at the end.
In addition, I teach workshops in Storytelling, Songwriting, Guitar, Harmonica, Mandolin, Banjo and/or Mountain (Lap) Dulcimer.
“Extremely entertaining…Mr. Hall is very subtle in how he “sneaks” the educational aspects into all the fun!”
Cheryl Plunkett - Principal (W.A. Porter Elem., Hurst, TX.)
“The kids had so much fun, and we want you to do another appearence next summer. Your program really added a lot to our American History Week.”
Ellen Whitehorse - Librarian (DeQueen Public Library, DeQueen, Arkansas.)
